I found a recipe for a chicken lentil soup for tonight, and I am v. excited about it. This was amazing, heavily aided by the bacon grease that went into it. |

We have friends coming into town tomorrow, one that has never been to Colorado. Really excited for an excuse to eat at all of the restaurants we've been wanting to hit up.

I forgot my lunch today, so I ventured down to the cafeteria. Glad I did:
Pork loin stuffed with apple, spinach, and sweet potatoes. Served with grilled cauliflower and fingerling potatoes.
Very tasty.

i think i talked a few people at the office into exploring the West Loop Kumas Corner with me today so i'll report back on how ninnified it is.

Did you know Punch House has $5 punch on Mondays? Tonight the special involved green apple Crown Royal and sparkling wine. I had one of those, 1.5 other punches and a jucy lucy and am feeling v disappointed with my life choices atm

That Murder City Devils show was on a Monday and the $5 punch that night was great, too. Can't remember what it had in it, though.

I went to the new bagel place in Pilsen called Cafe Lacuna, and it is awesome. I got their lox bagel which was super good, and they have Ipsento Coffee which is particularly awesome considering the neighborhood is pretty much a coffee desert.

I had dinner at Pork Shoppe after the beach yesterday and although I was salt-depleted after it being so hot all weekend, everything was still ridiculously salty. And the brisket was too fatty. There is nothing more disappointing than bad bbq sometimes.

I actually enjoyed Pied de Cochon's sugar shack much more than I had expected.
And I didn't even need to use the small flask of herbal digestive liquor that I had brought in case I needed a Trou Normand
(unlike gourmet all-you-can-eat brunch buffets at Fairmont Hotels where I almost always need a little helper after the main courses to find space for the dessert table)

went to little goat for a coworker's going away lunch.
french toasted stuff with over easy eggs, topped with fried chicken and strawberries with bbq maple syrup.
i am now in a coma.
