Excited for my food tour of the area around Merchandise Mart next week. First visit to the new office in nice weather. I am in the office all next week except Monday. Let me know if you'd like company. Although, out on Monday for a root canal, so eating for me may be compromised? idk ... Plus, I don't really exist, so there's that.

Wyoming swears you're real, so I guess I'll buy it.
I don't get into town until Tuesday night but I'll be there for the remainder of the week. I'll definitely keep you posted.

I could probably do lunch Friday if that ends up being the plan. It can be the plan if that's the only time that works for you. I'm free all day.

What time works best for you two? I don't know how lunch breaks work at real jobs.

Went to Mott Street Wednesday for the first time, it was delicious. Highlights included the everything wings, pork jowl, and short rib.
They also had an outdoor seating area that looked awesome but was closed due to the rain. I will be back to check it out for sure.

Made pulled pork in the Crockpot and baked Mac and Cheese with bacon last night. So much leftovers.

Our local neighborhood bistro had a soft-shell crab sandwich special last night. Just absolutely perfect.

Ate at mfk. for the first time last night and whoa was that tasty. Highly recommend, and go with at least three people so you can try most of the things.

I think my biggest guilty pleasure is a rising crust Jack's frozen pizza. What a delight

The last time I had a Jack's pizza was at least ten years ago and it was utter garbage. But it didn't have a rising crust. Have they improved in recent years?

no but jack's itself is good and cheap.
rising crust frozen pizza all seem to always turn out gross.

Home Run Inn frozen pizza is insanely good but it also costs almost the same as just getting a dang pizza delivered so its a dilemma

A new Detroit style pizza place opened near me but it's kind of disgustingly greasy.
I've gotten it twice already :/

Speaking of pizza, we finally made it to the original Emily in Brooklyn a couple of weeks ago. We ordered a burger and a "Colony" pizza (pepperoni, pickled jalapenos and honey). The pizza was top-notch and the burger was good, but underwhelming based on the hype that preceded it. I still think we're #blessed with one of the best burgers in the city at the little bistro in our neighborhood. Anyway, based on the pizza experience, I'm hoping to try Emmy Squared before long.
New York thin-crust is alright, but I do miss the Chicago area thin-crust (e.g. Rosati's).

We have a Detroit-style pizza place opening up down the street next month. Never heard of that style before last year and now it's everywhere.

Detroit style is weird to me since it was always just "square" pizza growing up which i thought was a thing everywhere until i got older.
it's good but not as good as chicago style imo.

Yeah it is probably not worth the day-long stomachache afterwards but boy is it good.
