I've run that race to Fort Collins. It was very scenic and I remember having a pretty good day (maybe 15 years ago?). Hope you had a better day than you thought you might have had.

Our dog ate an entire bag of dark chocolate covered almonds last night so I had to bail. I was feeling good yesterday - honestly think I could have managed a PR. Bummer of a day. Pooch is okay which is the important thing, but I'm glad I left considering we had no idea how serious it was.

just heard of a massive peloton recall so that's just greeaaaaat. It came up for me when I started my workout today. I didn't take the time to fully read what showed on my screen, but I thought it implied that there was something potentially wrong with the seat post for certain versions and that they would simply send you a new seat post structure/mechanism. Naturally some people aren't going to be comfortable with some installation stuff, but it bears trying to get that info to redisplay again when I have some spare time.

I could be wrong but I believe you have to "order" the new/replacement parts

It's that time of year again. If anyone is running the Chicago Marathon or if you have someone close to you running the marathon and you/they want a little help, I can get you a clear runway. If you want to sleep in and start later, I can also make that happen. Whatever you like. I may also have access to some day-of-event perks, these (if available at all) are strictly for you or your SO. DM if you're interested in the details.

The weirdest celebrity Peloton I've done recently was the Oprah and Gayle hike with Jess Sims. Oprah was Oprah-ing through the whole thing, it was fantastic

*opens a recent classic rock peloton ride to see the playlist*
*pixies and nirvana*
*curls up in a corner and turns to dust*

Do you all review the playlist and deem it ok before doing a ride? I do.

usually but sometimes i like the instructor/type of ride enough to deal with it.

When using the Peloton, there are two ways I go about it.
If it's meant to be the hard cardio workout for the day, then music is critical and I definitely review the playlist or search for an artist to settle on a workout.
If it's not meant to be the hard cardio workout for the day, I tend to focus on the trainer, avoiding the ones that piss me off (cough Christine Ercole cough). Easy workouts are about spinning the pedals for 45-90 minutes without concern for Kj or mileage.
To each their own, of course.

cough, it's d'ercole. Sorry she pisses you off but I love her new wave rides and love she goes heavy and slow, not super fast with no resistance.

I love her new wave/dark wave/etc musical selections, and I will put up with her, but I do not need to hear about her fucking gold medals EVERY SINGLE WORKOUT, we get it you're better than us. And I don't need to hear about climbing Haleakala incessantly (mostly on her older workouts, but still...). And I don't need to hear about what training she did this morning.
She works for me for those 45 minutes, the self promotion is unbearable. I Can, I Will, I do, Fuck you....

take a belly breath, man.
i would rather hear about that stuff than hannah corbin's baby hairs.
and i appreciate her talking about training because she's like...the most legit cyclist there. she knows what she's talking about.

got a free gym membership thing in a raffle and absolutely hate the common kind of gym now where you gotta like make your own space with random weights and shit. just give me endless row of machines I dont know how to use and let me live.

I would be happy to trade memberships with you. I go to the xsport on my block because it is $10 a month and on my block. However it has a bunch of dumb machines but only two benches and 1 squat rack and 1 hex bar which is the only way I can deadlift now after you caused me permanent shoulder injury. I definitely have to time my visits for off hours.

some of you already know this, but i'm raising money and pledged to cycle 200 miles this month for alzheimer's & dementia research, both of which have impacted my family very closely.
if anyone who i'm not facebook friends with is interested in donating, let me know and i can PM you a link to the fundraiser. unfortunately, a facebook account is needed to donate. though i have a workaround if necessary. i've already raised $900 of my $1,000 goal thanks to my great friends and fam!

I would like to make a donation but would very much appreciate not having to create a Facebook to make it. It has impacted our family a lot too, so thank you for doing this. I'm more than happy to Venmo you to make a donation but I will require it be made in the name of someone ridiculous.

Made a last minute decision to sign up for the Bolder Boulder yesterday. Such an insanely fun race. I dove into a pool at mile 2, had a mimosa at mile 4, and did a keg stand at mile 5. There's belly dancers and bands throughout the whole course. The entire town comes out. Still managed to break an hour even with all the extracurricular stuff.

1st marathon completed. Worse than my goal time but with plenty of time to spare before the cut off . Now I know I need to eat real breakfast before running 26.2 miles other than just random carb and sugar goop lesson learned
