My list will likely lean more mainstream/blockbuster films. For some reason I stopped caring for a lot of indie films as I got older. Some of my non-MCU favorites. Not in order. Snowpiercer Ex Machina Blade Runner 2049 Drive We Need to Talk about Kevin Hell or High Water Blue Ruin Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (remake) Blue Valentine Young Adult 50/50 Dallas Buyers Club Source Code Super 8 The Town Such a great movie... thinking of purchasing its DVD so that I could lend it to friends... I really think that more people should see it

Shame The Insult Footnote Tangerines The Florida Project Ex Machina In Between The Hunt Moonlight Bullhead Roma Act of Killing A Man called Ove Monsieur Lazhar The Square A Prophet Foxtrot Mustang You were never really here 12 Years a Slave God's Neighbors Shoplifter

Made a stack of films on my shelf that I want to revisit while making this list and made E pick one. She picked Mad Max: Fury Road which I saw in theaters and then exactly one semi-distracted time after. Definitely a good and also fun action film and while it isn't my preferred genre it hits all the right notes. Anyways this is the rest of my re-watch stack what should I watch next

That's a discussion question I want to open up the floor for- What director had the best run of the 2010's? Like, counting 2010 to present output only I'm really tempted to say Villenueve (Prisoners, Enemy, Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner, and possibly Incendies too though I haven't seen it). I'd say Yorgos Lanthimos (Dogtooth, Lobster, Killing of a Sacred Deer, the Favourite, I haven't seen Alps) is a close number two. As mentioned previously in this thread I havent seen Inherent Vice or Phantom Thread yet, both of which I hope to fix soon, so I can't really put PTA into this discussion. paul thomas anderson (bonus if you could the short work he's done this decade) yorgos lanthimos as you mentioned andrey zvyagintsev (elena, leviathan, loveless) steve mcqueen bong joon-ho jia zhangke (if you ignore the 3rd part of mountains may depart) kore-eda is a good bet but he's too prolific and i haven't seen all of them. lynne ramsay but she only has 2 films i think.

Zhangke is one I’ve been meaning to get into. I saw A Touch of Sin when it came out and really loved it but that’s it. Where do I go next?

Where do I go next? his career is really varied. if you loved that, then ash is purest white. for the 2010s thread, mountains may depart is still good i just had some issues. i really love the world and still life though for this thread they're pre-2010.

Other things that stick out to me--- Not sure how Under the Skin could be the 2nd best film of the decade unless you think real highly of that Scarlett performance, and yet is MIA. Perhaps she is just cancelled now, as the kids say. Joaquin had some very awesome performances this decade. Surprised not to see him here for one of Her, The Master, or You Were Never Really Here. Of course, if they'd just waited a few months...
