Fully expecting the Bulls to abandon the rebuild in a month and pursue marquee free agents because Forman got distracted by a shiny object.

I don't know what it's called, but if Ricky O'Donnell has one I'd recommend that. He might be kinda Bulls-centric, but he's good on all things NBA.

Knicks and Phil Jackson "parting ways". Next couple years might suck with the Carmelo/Noah/Courtney Lee contracts, but at least they don't owe any 1st round picks to anybody.

Am I a crazy person for thinking that they might be kinda good if they ditch the triangle, re-sign Derrick as a bench scorer, and make Porzingis the alpha dog?

Paul to Houston for Beverley, Decker, Williams and the 2018 first round pick is a done deal.

EDIT: CPF beat me to it.
I wonder where Blake ends up now, especially if the Celtics are really able to get both Gordon Hayward and Paul George.

They get really nerdy and deep into cap stuff, but there's a lot of good content there. They just posted their "mock off-season" podcast, so that's a fun place to start. I also listen to Locked on NBA, as well as a lot of the team-specific podcasts. Locked on Bulls, Locked on Jazz, etc.

So now what?
At least for the Rockets I expect them to still try to unload Anderson's 19 mil and go for a free agent forward.

Anderson is perfect for what they want from that spot and they'll need his spacing even more with Paul, who likes to get to the basket and into the mid-range more than anyone they had last year.

Jesus, really makes that Butler haul look even worse. ? I think the Bulls got better building blocks than the Clippers did. Beverley and Lou only have one year left on their current deals, so this is a total rebuilding move for the Clippers. I'm guessing they'll try to flip those two for younger assets/picks at the deadline.

Jesus, really makes that Butler haul look even worse. yeah. there's a lot of criticism over the pick swap instead of just adding the number 7 pick, but if Thibs was that set on keeping a pick this year, we could have taken their 1st next year. I just still can't believe we made a Butler deal and didn't add any draft picks.

Dunn is only thought of highly by the Bulls at this point, and LaVine is an awful defender coming off a major injury. Insult to injury was not holding onto the 16th pick for some reason.

I just still can't believe we made a Butler deal and didn't add any draft picks. The biggest problem for me is what they took with that pick. The Bulls should have rolled the dice on a guy like Malik Monk or Dennis Smith Jr., rather than take just another 7-footer who can shoot 3's and not do much else. Those types of players (Frye, Anderson, Mirotic, etc.) have a place in the league, but recent years have shown that teams reliant on those guys have a ceiling and those guys get played off the floor in the playoffs. I get that we got two other guards in the trade, but most of the good teams nowadays basically play two point guards at a time anyway (see: Rockets, Blazers, Celtics, etc.). Just get the best talent available and work out the rotations later.

New York has already said they're not going to grant him a buyout. Jackson was the one who wanted a buyout.

Bogdan Bogdanovich has agreed to come over to play for the Kings. 3 years, $30 million. I actually like what the Kings are building this summer. Good for them.

Just get the best talent available and work out the rotations later. I've thought about the trade a lot and while I wish they could have kept the pick, CSN reported yesterday the offer was Dunn/7/Rubio. T-Wolves wouldn't budge with LaVine unless the 16 was thrown in. There were no other competitive offers out there. With that, yeah the injury sucks but NBA players have recovered from that often. Rose is the exception to the rule. Most, if not all, rookies have had brutal rookie campaigns. Butler only averaged 2.6 points per game. Last, my buddy in Arizona who watches way to much sports says Lauri can flat out shoot. One of the best he's seen out of AZ and that's coming from an ASU fan (see: James Harden). Basically, if you get one of these players to hit and another to be good, you win the trade. I also hope they blow in 2017-18 so they get a top 5 next year. Lord knows they need lots of players.

melo will not be bought out, but i could see the knicks dealing him for shorter contracts and a pick or something. obviously, he'd go to houston or cleveland, at least.

Butler didn't hardly play his rookie year and Dunn was on the floor a ton. He sucked. Even with factoring in potential, his ceiling is average.
