you've got to love dr giggles I hated Dr. Giggles when I saw it years and years ago on HBO. I remember quite a few scenes from it, though, including the ending ("Take two and call me in the morning!").

Ken Russel’s The Devils is on the criterion channel this week and if you haven’t seen it yet, you definitely should. Though this doesn’t include the controversial “rape of Christ” sequence, you don’t lose a ton without it.

God I totally forgot this existed. There's a horror movie about a street near where I lived in Bartlett. It looks very very bad, but I may cave and watch it tonight:

15. Dr. Giggles "How did the kid get out of the house??" is such an arbitrary question to frame an urban legend around but the payoff is so good! Convinced the wife to make this no. 13 tonight and it didn't disappoint. This scene in particular was pretty well done. Larry Drake played great villains. Durant in Darkman is another one I'm a fan of.

16. Prince of DarknessThe concept of this so cool, and the realization of its ideas are really striking. I get why it's not considered a classic like some other Carpenter joints but I was very drawn in by the mythology. 17. Slumber Party Massacre
I was definitely expecting more of an explicit genre sendup but I didn't mind that it played more hands off for the most part. Worked well as a slasher on its own merits.

Movies are cycling out of the thing!
Quite a heap of bonus films this week, might even add a few more entries from the big franchises as we go. But, in addition to our regularly scheduled programming, please enjoy...
A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors Child's Play (2019) Friday the 13th Part II House of 1,000 Corpses Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III

I really enjoyed Shivers when I saw it as part of an overnight marathon in a theater but it's hard to judge those ones independently of the experience

I watched this last night for the first time. It was cool, I liked all the phantasmagoric elements to it. I read Books of Blood Vol. I-III years ago. The appearance of Pinhead and Co. to Kirsty in the hospital was the best scene. I guess they get into the mythology of them more in the sequels.

We split it across two nights. As a heads up, the third chapter is by far the longest.

17. Zombieland: Double TapProbably better than it has any right to be considering it is literally just 90 minutes of reddit jokes but its definitely alot of fun. Breslin did not grow up to be a very good actor so it was a good move to just make this the stone, harrleson, eisenberg show with some hit or miss cameos along the way including a truly baffling luke wilson cameo who seems absolutely nothing like woody harrleson despite that being the entirety of the 10 minute premise If you go in with absolutely no expectations I cant imagine not having at least a nice time at the movies which considering there are ammost no hororr movies coming out this october is as good a recommendation as any.

This would have been so much better had they pushed for the R rating. Still pretty fun for the most part. the first one is about 400x better but i also realllllly didnt like this one but

Not a movie, but we're trying out the latest season of American Horror Story. 1984. Gave up on this show around Freak Show, but I'm in for 80s horror nostalgia. hope it doesn't suck (much).

22. Final Destination 3 (2006; James Wong)Never seen this. Intentionally avoided this entry because I love roller coasters and simply did not need to see a movie that revolves around a roller coaster crash. Anyway, I’m glad I finally watched it. This is a lot of fun. Move of the week yo!

Just started episode 3. This will be right y'alls alley. Good stuff so far. Forgot how much FX lets this show get away with.

23. The Driller Killer (1979; Abel Ferrara)Scariest part of this was the scene where they eat “pizza” which is god-honestly revolting. Bad movie otherwise sry.
