25. One Cut Of The Dead
This feels like a classic movie, I'm very glad I watched it. Definitely one to go in completely blind with. A new fave.

27. Cat PeopleThis is quaint, but pretty effective at what it's going for. It takes care to make Irena a tragic figure, and the lighting and cinematography are excellent. I wanna watch the Schrader remake. 28. City of the Living DeadGreat stuff. One gruesome setpiece after another. I liked when the guy wiped off the maggot phone to take the call.

29. The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974; Tobe Hooper)Alamo Terror Tuesday screening, and the best one yet. The scariest viewing of this I’ve ever had. I think I rented this for the first time in 8th grade. What a film. The first time I wasn’t ready for Franklin to die. That’s how good it was.

Was just thinking about Blair Witch last night because TCM shook me, and was trying to remember other movies that left me with that affect. Might try to watch that tonight or tomorrow.
Will definitely hit 31 but didn't do it as early as I'd hoped.

30. A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors (1987; Chuck Russell)Alright, my reassessment is that every character is better than any character in the original....except Freddy. He's a huge disappointment in this compared to the first one. The gimmicky one-liners started to get out of control here, and he's all over the place at the climax of the movie...I think this one really loses its way in the final act. Kincaid is still one of the best things about the series. Phillip's "puppet" death rules.

Welp its the 31st and I'm finishing the evening with This is Us if that's any indication to how well I did this year.
One day this kid will be old enough to appreciate these movies, but until then my wife can only stomach half a month of horror.

Favorite first-time watch: Dead of Night/Deathdream
Least relevant title: Dead of Night/Deathdream
Most disappointing: Martin
Least interested in being a horror movie: tie between Q The Winged Serpent and Happy Death Day
Best villain/monster: Lady Divine from Multiple Maniacs
Least deserving survivor: Ralph from Dolls
The Howling Memorial Award for Most Build-up to a Face Elongating: American Werewolf in London
Most likely for me to re-evaluate favorably a year after I watched it because I forget the slow parts: Kwaidan, though I already loved it
Castle Freak Memorial Award for Having a Castle where there's a Freak: I guess Deep Red comes closest for having a big Villa where some Freaky stuff happened. But all in all not a very Castle Freakish month for me

I know its November but I did just finish Midsommar. Didn't expect I'd like it but turns out I did. Really well filmed too, some excellent set design, and the usage of light was so unsettling.
Also watched the non-Mandy Moore 47 Meters Down, which is basically the first one meets the Descent. Shark is poorly designed, and so many predictable deaths. But there was a jump scare that actually got me so kudos to them.
