If there are any serious requests to be dropped in the thing, this is pretty much your last chance! Movies will cycle out later this afternoon. I'll load it up with whatever people want, in addition to the couple movies left on the schedule.

There's a lot of good evidence to support that take. Its definitely one of my favorites.

Scoots, #4 is a big guilty pleasure of mine and also features Kincaid of memory serves correctly - should you choose to continue this binge.
2 is also not without its merits but everyone loves to rag on it

I put 3 in the same vein as Aliens sorta. It's not so much a horror film anymore. It's a thriller/maybe somewhat action-y.
The only truly awful Nightmare film is the remake. All the rest have at least some merit.

I havent gotten to watch any movies but we have been watching some of the two horror shows so I'm gonna count that as rango did.
American Horror Story 1984: ridiculously cheesy, we're on ep 4 and its pretty enjoyable. Nothing groundbreaking tho. Havent hit the mid season twist yet. John Carrol Lynch is so underrated.
Castle Rock: glad this came back so strong. Never thought I wanted another interpretation of Annie Wilkes until I saw Lizzy Caplan going fuckin apeshit in episode 1.
So I think that equates to 2-3 movies, so by that unit of measurement I'm still very much behind everyone else.

Halloweens 4 and 5 are trash although the ending to 4 is pretty fun. Barking Dogs Never Bite was genuinely upsetting at times but really well done. Mandy is still good but definitely doesn't have as much of a punch the second time around. atmospherically gorgeous but boy did i forget how much of a story it doesn't have.

Mandy should have just embraced the batshit elements and maybe cut it's run time by about 30 minutes. Still thought it was great, though. That last hour or so - hoo boy.

it's actually way closer to Beyond the Black Rainbow than i originally gave it credit for. probably because the action in Mandy stands out so much more that i walked away thinking it was a pretty major shift for the director. watching it again, they're incredibly similar basically until the chainsaw duel starts

22. The Hills Have Eyes - The original version, which I had never seen before. It was good not great but you can totally rewatch this forever.
23. The Ritual - This started out so good and just fell apart in Act 3.
24. Hereditary - I hadn't seen this since theaters and it is still a perfect movie to me. Even more dreadful the second time around knowing all the big bits.
25. The Monster Squad - 80s teen garbage. Fuck the goonies and fuck this.
26. Friday the 13th Part 3 - Not bad! Probably in the top 5 of the series.
27. Friday the 13th Part IV - Easily the best F13 movie. It is a perfect slasher and maybe my favorite slasher of all time.
28. Friday the 13th: A New Beginning - So so so bad. Not any good gore, but plenty of boobs.

Jason Lives has too much supernatural stuff in it for my tastes. I just want some unexplained dude going around and doing kills.
Plus the gore in part IV is some of the best in the series.

It is the only series of the "big 3" (halloween, anoes, friday) that if you didn't see them when you were younger, i'm honestly not sure how much is left for you. Would be excited to be proven wrong, but I think they've aged the worst.

Jason Lives is the best imo for these reasons
Reason the First: its meta baby Reason the 2nd: its funny
Reason #C : and the most important one, it has what I call "pig IS the blanket," aka accordion man, aka the best death.

26. Multiple ManiacsDon't think I'd watched any old-school Waters since high school and it really hit the spot. Divine is such a treasure.

Someone give me a list of movies I should check out on Shudder.
Cool service, but I'm not a huge fan of the interface.

it's one of Miike's best but you uhhh you definitely gotta be in a certain mindset for it.
pretty much by the title sequence you'll know if you wanna go through with it or not.
