08. Brightburn (2019)
Outside of a few humorous death scenes and the inclusion of Badger, this was pretty dumb and predictable. Some pretty terrible CGI. But it was entertaining...I think.

13. An American Werewolf in London - enjoyed this a lot. cool effects, good pacing, funny lines. felt like a fresh take on an old conceit 14. Night of the Lepus - the editing in this is so exhausting after a while but it's some loopy fun Thanks chvrchbarrel for sharing these. it looks like The Host file in the drive doesn't have subtitles. at least it didn't when I downloaded it

11. Night of the Lepus (1972; William F. Claxton)Hubbins is right - the editing in this is exhausting, especially the sound editing at times. The concept is a lot of fun though; I was really excited to do a monster/mutant themed week and it happens to be the one I'm most absent for. Really going to try to catch up on these.

Another good werewolf movie with great practical effects is the first Howling. Plus Dee Wallace is always fun.
Paris sequel is okay. Main thing about that I remember is that fuckin Bush song.

12. Puppet Master: Littlest ReichReally shows how much can be done with a $0 b-movie real actors and a real screenplay. If they got a real director too it would've been classic, but it still alot of tasteless fun. Only real disappointing thing was that it felt like there were very few kinds of puppets give me a lot more puppets

13. Hell House LLC 2This is an absolute mess. So many added elements with absolutely no follow through, the acting is just like tim and eric levels of surreal and just horribly unscary except for maybe two scenes which still despite that are still annoyingly effective which makes me even more upset. 14. Hell House LLC 3This is technically scaier than #2 but somehow even more of a mess. The world building is just next level bad. At least it brought back the whole haunted house thing but other than a total mess. Probably proves this director was a true one and doner. Has the dumbest scene ive ever seen in a horror movie, the narration goes like "we took a closer look at so and sos social media, and people began to see hidden images" and than like literally there is like just a dead guy in the corner of every picture truly awful no stars.

15. Lovely MollySurprised this was buried. Its very dark and bleak and definitely bites off more than it can chew as it keeps going but its also legitimately very scary. Tortoise did the score too which is super sick and the score definitely adds to the tension. Also its surprisingly looks great for being most likely extremely low budget, especially after watching those hell house llc movies. Would definitely give it a recommend if looking for something dark/suspenseful.

16. Stuck
This rules. Extremely grindhouse without ever winking at the camera which just gives it such a great dark grim atmosphere while still being tabloid-y and darkly comic. Definitely recommend. Stuart Gordon needs to direct something again.

13. P2 (2007; Franck Khalfoun)
Mostly predictable and not that much fun, but it is enjoyable to imagine this is plastic bag boy Ricky Fitts' future. 14. The Thing (1982; John Carpenter)
megan: i liked american werewolf in london. i want to watch another good horror movie. as always, this checked every box. 15. Day of the Dead (1985; George A. Romero)
This is a 99 cent rental on itunes right now and I haven't seen it. I like it a lot! It's got a little more of a pulse - pun intended - than some of the other series entries.

09. Maniac Cop (1988)
Wife had an event to go to so me and the kid watched Maniac Cop since neither of us had seen it yet. He slept through it, but this was a fun one. Loved that within the first 15 minutes there are 3 deaths, spliced between character introductions. Bruce Campbell is his usual self, but Tom Adkins deserves more credit for his 80s output - Halloween III, the Fog, Night of the Creeps, Creepshow.... hell hes in Lethal Weapon.
Dunno how I've missed Robert D'Zar over the years, but dude was a beast. This also has one of the most dangerous looking stunts I've seen in sometime at the end. At first I thought "oh look at that obviously fake dummy" but then realized it was an actual stunt man damn near getting crushed. Pretty impressive.
Might watch the sequels but we'll see.

The Omen from 74, despite plodding at times, has some very effective moments, and how in the world did they get such a good actor for Damien.

10. Microwave Massacre (1983)
Oh boy. Frosty the Snowman kills his wife one night and then cooks her and eats her. Its pretty dumb. Its labeled as a black comedy and while I didn't find it very funny, the more grotesque/practical effects weren't awful.

16. Cat People (1942; Jacques Tourneur)I did not particularly enjoy this - likely because I was absolutely ripping Galaga a new one in the lobby prior to the show, which paled in excitement. 2/2 on the theater showing the criterion bumper before the film (i wonder what will happen during non-criterion showings??)
