Just a remarkably stupid time to be a white sox fan. Even with that dumb hire the roster and young core is still incredibly exciting. They still have plenty of payroll flexibility so I expect they will still be buyers during this off-season. This is a great time to be a White Sox fan. exciting young core of players and then hiring a manager who thinks tatis' grand slam was unsportsmanlike. definitely a dumb as hell contrast. |

Dude also coached Rickey Henderson and The Bash Brothers so maybe he’s more of a traditionalist asshole when the player isn’t on his team.

The bulls are bad but the signing of Billy Donovan was not embarrassing.

I mean, if I need to deal with embarrassment from the team I cheer for I'd rather they hire an old out of touch manager than be run by a family of unabashed Trump supporters, but that's just me. |

Saying the team is an embarrassment because they made a shitty hire at manager is a huge reach, especially given the season they are coming off of and the collection of young talent currently on the roster. |

I dono the White Sox have been underperforming expectations for 5 years and than finally have a good year and than immediately at the end of it make a hiring decision so stupid it could make the whole team self destruct I personally am embarrassed by this I can't imagine not being. You should be embarrassed by a promising team with a diverse group of young potential all stars being managed by a 72 year old guy who has been in forced retirement for a decade and is openly racist (and has been convicted of a DUI).

This is not the basketball thread but the Billy Donovan signing was the most shocking moment of quarantine because while it wasn't my first choice, Reinsdorf made a choice that was in any way defensible.
