Told Dan Bejar I loved his art after a Protomartyr show at the Bottle. He just stared back at me as blankly as possible.
Lin Brehmer thanking a group of us for singing along offstage during his rendition of “Natural Woman” at Gman karaoke.

After a daft punk on the Friday night of Lolla 07, me and my brother ran into Dan and Pat from the black keys after they played and as they were blowing up. I think it was at the moderately ok place on Michigan that’s not the gage. I’m sure it doesn’t exist any more.
Someone can help me here on the name of that place. But those dudes couldn’t have been nicer.

Got a photo with Matthew Houck (aka Phosphorescent) at Midway Airport after Lolla 2014. I was like 18 at the time.

I've probably told this story before, but I accidentally ran onto the Public Enemies set and was cursed out by Christian Bale.
Also worked at Portillo's/Barnelli's while I was in high school and rung up Mike Singletary and his family. He's much shorter than I expected him to be.

It was brief - he yelled "who the fuck are you?" after I interrupted a take and then started yelling at extras asking how I managed to get onto the set. I also remember one guy playing some pretty solid defense on me like I was going to attempt to go back onto the set after I was escorted off the street.
Anyway, this is one reason why I don't typically run while listening to music.

seems like a dick reaction no matter what (in line with his on-set reputation) but it is way funnier to me that you stumbled into an actual take and not just the set itself, bravo

scoots post reminded me that I said hello to Walter Payton when he came into the Warner Bros. Studio Store at Woodfield (my first job after graduating college). Truly lived up to his nickname.

I was initially shocked to look up and see a bunch of old-timey cars parked on the street, then noticed an enraged Christian Bale five feet from me.

I've been late to teaching a class before when coming back from lunch because the Chicago Fire/Chicago PD crew physically won't let people pass through when they film in Pilsen.

Dog Haus stinks but they are also a ghost kitchen and their breakfast burritos are among the better ones in the city on the cheap and greasy side of things. they cook the eggs over easy and you can get one with whatever of their speciality sausages cut up in there as well as hash browns/avocado/jalapenos/cheese with spicy mayo and hot sauce on the side and unfortunately its delicious. Its a chain ghost kitchen concept which sucks obviously but its also the only version of chain ghost kitchen that has ever actually been good

wait how's it a ghost kitchen when it's a "biergarten." that implies actually going to and sitting at a restaurant?

The Dog Haus on Lincoln is pretty great for drunk food after a LH show but they have truly heinous beer. Like anything on tap is absolutely disgusting.

oh my b, got it now. thought you meant a ghost kitchen that just delivers, tbh the SEO shows some real results (like Jake Paul) so wasn't sure what was up with it.

Booked the Airbnb above The Long Room again for the our visit in December!
Related: do any of you by chance know if the Chicago Red Stars team store on Irving ever opened? I want to get my kids some swag if it is.

Just saw that Sun-Times alert come through, too. They're growing out of shit so quickly at this point I might just take advantage of the discounted stuff.
