I bought an acoustic guitar off a neighbor that didn't want it for really cheap (it's a Yamaha F335) and I actually think I want to go through with truly picking it up this time. I had previously tried to pick up guitar in high school with an electric guitar and took some lessons but never really followed through. I still have that guitar but I'm finding the acoustic a lot easier because I can just pick it up without plugging anything in and hear the sound differences more clearly.
This whole week I've had it next to my work desk (I work from home) and just picking it up in down times and trying to strum each major chord multiple times, trying to memorize both the finger placement and how each one sounds. Next week going to start incorporating more chord progressions.
Anyone have any specific resources they used on learning guitar? I've just been googling things and reading about it so far, and next week might pull up some youtube videos to follow along with

woken up by a 4.0 earthquake at 4am was not how i wanted to start my day, but here we are!
somebody's fracking disposal well is getting shut down today... that's been the cause of the earthquakes in oklahoma for the last 10+ years - wastewater injection wells from drilling for oil / gas.

i got my third and biggest tattoo yesterday. i was kinda worried it was too big but i lurve it now. however, i will be covering it up tomorrow for easter bc i'm not in the mood to get into it with my mom lol

On the subject - getting ready to try to book an artist I've been following to tattoo my shoulder blade sometime next month. What are people's experience with how long you can't sleep on a tattoo? It has to be on the shoulder that I usually sleep on cause I have a couple large moles on the other side that I don't really want to mess with/tattoo around.

several records that i've bought used have a prior owner's name on them, either on the sleeve or even on the center label. i've been looking these people up. many are dead. but i recently looked up a name and one of the results was that the person had left a comment on the obituary page for the owner of the shop where i bought that record. pretty neat.

Our AC the last two weeks has been really slow to cool and yesterday it just stopped cooling all together and it's 83 degrees inside this house and rising right now so thats fun
someone is coming to look at it around noon and I'm really hoping we don't have to buy a whole new unit (we own the house)

That sucks, hopefully it's just the capacitor or something. I had to replace my entire unit at my old house, it was 15+ years old. Fortunately I had some cash saved up.
