As I was leaving a venue after a show last night, I removed my Dubs and realized that one of the plugs had become separated and stuck in my right ear. Thankfully there was a Walgreens nearby where I could buy some tweezers - took me several minutes to remove the plug from my ear. Clearly won't be recommending these ear plugs anymore. I had that happen to me a while ago, and i bought a 2nd pair to use as a replacement (having 3 usable plugs left) then it happened during pitchfork and was able to get a toothpick at Billy Goat to get it out (2 usable plugs left) and then again Thursday night in the rain leaving lolla and was luckily able to get it out without needing tweezers (1 usable plug left)

I need a good time killing website where I can read stories or funny things or interesting things or something. and text only, no pictures, and not overly NSFW. a good subreddit that fits that would do, or just a website. really pretty broad here. My trip for work this week got cancelled and I'm going crazy with the boredom /r/writingprompts /r/nosleep /r/pettyrevenge

It can be good, but there's a bit too much arrogance there for my tastes.

I read a lot of complaints about the Dubs getting stuck in ears. I've had that happen to me before with both some earbuds and another type of ear plug and both times were awful so that convinced me to go with the Etymotic ones instead
also thanks for the suggestions. petty revenge is a good one I forgot about

just make it funny and short. everyone will dig it does anyone use RCN for cable/internet in the city? Never knew that was an option and I was just going to go with Comcast what pros/cons are you looking for? cause i know way too much about either at this point and decidedly hate them both (fwiw i'd honestly take comcast over RCN at this point) just any general service knowledge, reliability, etc. realtor had the anti-Comcast stance. Personally I've had no issue with them, but RCN looked cheaper when I was perusing, so was curious what their deal was.

I haven't had a car for 5 years - it's pretty easy if you're in the right city.

Yeah, living where I do now, I couldn't ride my bike to work every day unless you wanted to see me pedaling on the side of the interstate.

It's nice to know that my Foo Fighters Secret Show shirt from last week is worth $300 on Ebay.

Houston is very much a driving city. I can't imagine not having a car here. Really most of Texas is like that.
I like driving, good time to listen to music and podcasts and stuff. I hate driving in heavy traffic at all though, but I'm sure that's universal. Every once in a while I'll just drive the neighborhood a few times to listen to music for longer.

okc is definitely a driving city for sure. over 600 square miles, with the larger metro area making it even bigger, and public transportation (bus only) is weak at best.
but, when you have so many oil & gas companies here, they love it when cars are driving all over the city!

I have my car here, but we essentially only use it to visit our families on the weekends or get groceries.
I used to have to drive when I was working on the west side, but now that I'm downtown it's awesome.

We were trying to figure out a way to remain a one car household even after having the kid, but it's not going to work. I don't want to subject a baby to the 15 bus going down Colfax.

did you try getting the smaller size? those fit my ears better. I have not. I may give that a shot. I've been using the smaller size Etymotics for a few years now and I've found them to be more comfortable. They still tend to itch after a while, though. One of these days I'm just going to get fitted for a custom set and be done with it.

I can't imagine not having a car. Of course I live in area where there are long distances between places and no public transportation (just not viable given the low population density). I know based on the mileage I put on my last four cars that I have driven over 1,000,000 miles just in the last 15 years.

i love driving (and singing badly) too much to ever give mine up. been going insanely slowly over the past 3 years with how much less i get to drive in the city now so going back home or taking trips to MI or whatever is always a thrill now.
granted my position on this may change very soon.
