Ribfest announced their lineup, from the names I recognize it's a bunch of cover bands and Freddy Jones Band. Too band, the street festival bubble seems to have certainly burst.

Roscoe Village Burger Fest & Taste of Lincoln Ave are going with cover bands once again. I suspect that might be par for the course for those two moving forward. Ribfest (which is now in August) has yet to announce, they've traditionally only booked local and national acts who play original music. Still haven't heard anything re: Goose Island Block Party and/or Revolution Oktoberfest, although I'm cautiously optimistic both will return this year as well.I'm starting to get a little less optimistic. Goose Island Block Party has traditionally been announced by now.

I don't think this has been posted, but it seems like a chill weekend hang. Dead Inside are Saturday afternoon and there's a Steely Dan cover band on Sunday. www.dancinginthestreetschicago.com/

I saw David Gans, who plays after your Dead Inside people, sometime prior to 2003 at the Boulevard Cafe on Logan Boulevard. I'd assume you're at least a little familiar with him, alady.

This seems to be a scaled back version of the old fest they used to put on outside their pub on Milwaukee.

This seems to be a scaled back version of the old fest they used to put on outside their pub on Milwaukee. Wow, super scaled back. I'll probably go for Glyders on Saturday: We'll have three sessions: Friday 9/23 from 5-8pm, Saturday 9/24 from noon-3pm, and Saturday 9/24 from 5-8 pm. Food will be served from Donermen Food Truck, Offset BBQ, and our own Revolution Brewpub. Musical guests will include:
Friday (5-8 pm): Bolzen Beer Band
Saturday (12-3 pm): The Polkaholics
Saturday (5-8 pm): Dan Damnit Blush Scars Glyders
Tickets will be on sale SOON! Check back here for updates and a link to purchase! Entry will be $50 (single session ticket includes a take-home 1/2 liter stein and four stein fills. Food not included in ticket price).

I'll be out of town that weekend and that lineup doesn't do much for me, but it's nice that The Block Party is back.

their opening party was similarly priced and open bar/alot of fun. unclear if this will be as well but that band lineup is def $35 worthy.

Anybody doing the Tone Deaf anniversary party today? This was cool. Made it over there about 3:15 and some folks were still setting up, but got to have the tasty cocktail from Moonflower. Picked up the new McCraven from the International Anthem booth and variant versions of Primitive Man’s Scorn and Carcass’ Torn Arteries (50% off!) from the store.

Dang, I'm sorry we missed you - I don't think we got there until 4 or so. Salisman were great, Sick Day had promise but you could tell they only know like four chords and Lifeguard were pretty impressive - really well rehearsed and great tunes.
