As for 4 days I like it I’m cool with having an hour or so of downtime on some days and with the Wednesday pre-shows it’s sort of become a Lolla week for me and that’s fun

Great weekend, Thursday through Saturday was amazing.
I enjoyed Jack on Sunday but not nearly as much as the other three. Lykke and Portugal were great

That’s really too bad. I noticed a lot more passed out kids this year than previous years. I know it’s always been an issue but it seemed especially bad this year with the heat and poor stage planning for a lot of the shows.

NPR this morning said that 73 people were shot, with 11 of them fatally, near the festival this weekend. The youngest was an 11 year old boy. All appear to be gang related.

I wouldn’t say it was near the festival, but yes I saw on the local news that Saturday was a very violent night unfortunately on the south and west side.

I'm usually away from the news during a festival, but Greg Kot mentioned the violence on Twitter during one of his updates. Along with the teen's passing, those are some really depressing events on what was otherwise a great Lolla weekend.
Not sure I have the energy yet for a top ten this year, but it was all about the ladies this weekend for me. St. Vincent, Larkin Poe, Bomba Estereo, Dorothy, the Regrettes and Carly Rae Jepsen all kicked ass.
I didn't get the Jepsen/sword thing at all, until I did some research last night. I'm always about eight months behind on meme culture.

Tired as hell today but so glad I went the VW aftershow So many deep cuts off of Graceland fixed that for you. I always find these comments amusing, but I do see where you are coming from. Heck, the Lolla set even took a play out of Paul Simon's book. When I saw Paul back in the day, he played "You Can Call Me Al" twice. #themoreyouknow

He played 'You Can Call Me Al' twice regularly? How did the audience not kill themselves?

He played 'You Can Call Me Al' twice regularly? How did the audience not kill themselves? They ate it up. As soon as it finished, he would start it again. And I like "You Can Call Me Al" - wanna fight?

I do not want to fight and I apologize. I think of the song as, like, 'We Didn't Start the Fire' but I can see I'm outnumbered.

Caught 40 sets this weekend in total, VW played a better set than the National, but being right up in Matt's face put the National over the top. Great weekend all around!
1.) The National 2.) Vampire Weekend 3.) Post Animal 4.) Lizzo 5.) Franz Ferdinand 6.) Kali Uchis 7.) Dream Wife 8.) Camila Cabello 9.) Alex Lahey 10.) St. Vincent

I watched Lil Uzi for 10 minutes yesterday and he played XO Tour Llif3, then two snippets of other songs, stopped and said something like, "Nah, I don't want to go out on that lame shit." Then started XO again, threw the mic into the crowd, and left 10 minutes early.
Does that count?
