He doesn't give up home runs or that many fly balls, right? Seems like a pretty good fit for that ballpark.

Still a weird signing with so many holes in their lineup. That's also a really pricey bullpen now.

I don't see the Sox breaking camp with Davidson at DH and Covey in the starting rotation, but yeah they're going to be very bad. I do think Sanchez and Anderson will outperform expectations next season.

I genuinely think Yolmer Sanchez is going to be a legit all-star caliber player next year.

The White Sox are nearing a 3 team trade with the Dodgers and Royals that will net them Luis Avilan. What they're giving up hasn't been announced yet.
Edit: My bad. I clearly did not read before posting. They have to be giving up something though, right? Maybe taking on a bad contract?

Jake Peter is meh and we get two meh bullpen arms. This hot stove season sucks.

Taking on Soria's salary is what the White Sox "gave up" I guess.
And yes, worst. off-season. ever.

Pretty weak 3-way. How did the Dodgers not regift Kemp to someone yet? I am wondering if he will even be on an MLB roster this year.

Kemp can still hit. If the Dodgers end up having to release him an AL team could pick him up to DH.

Two trade pieces for Hahn at the deadline. Weird that the Sox were able to swing this deal by giving up a guy they didn't even protect in the Rule 5 draft.

And I get that it's two meh bullpen arms, but they're also better than every guy in the Sox bullpen minus Nate Jones, so it's probably a good deal. Cooper was able to make Swarzak into a good reliever again, so maybe he can make Soria and Avilán into decent trade chips.

Starlin Castro wants to be traded from the Marlins predictably. Doesn’t want to be part of another rebuild. Jeter really is botching this job

Andruw Jones is at risk of being dropped from the HoF ballot because of the arcane rules. He's deserving of eventual induction, obviously not first year eligibility. I really hate the voting rules for the Hall.

Limiting to 10 votes is ridiculous, particularly when there is such a stacked list of eligible players. There's such an emphasis among writers that only the most deserving should be inducted during their first year of eligibility that qualified players keep getting booted down the road. It leads to this type of scenario.

Vizquel and Hoffman don't make much sense beyond longevity of their careers and I guess their consistency.

i think hoffman gets a lot of votes for longevity but also because he's so similar to bruce sutter. so if sutter's in, why not hoffman?
this should be the key argument against a big hall. if so-and-so's in and this other guy has similar stats, why shouldn't he get more consideration?

You can make a case for Andruw Jones but it's not like it's a slam dunk. There are a lot more glaring cases of guys left out. He's borderline IMO.

10 straight gold gloves to go along with the offense he provided at the time. I never said "first ballot HoF," but he's certainly not someone who should be removed from the ballot in his first year.

I don't think it's as simple as just providing a list of players who had good careers at the same position. Peak Jones lasted for a good chunk of his career (which is what voters look for) and his offensive numbers aren't really comparable to a lot of those players.

But again, my complaint is more that Jones has a chance of being removed entirely from the ballot after his first year of consideration. His career numbers warrant having this discussion for years on down the road.

To be clear, I'm not saying I endorse his view, just happened to see that tweet right as this came up.
I really want to hear if this Cole>Astros rumor is true.
