Somehow managed to score Julien tickets for the Monday and Tuesday shows. Will be my 12th and 13th (+1 if you count the boygenius reset show but I'm only looking at solo sets) time seeing her which will probably be the most I've seen any artist. Danny Brown is probably a close second.

S2 opener was decent. Really like how they made Aegon a man of the people. They totally botched B&C/the ending though. Much more brutal in the book, dialogue below. For context instead of them sneaking into Helaena's room, in the book they go to Alicent's room because they know Helaena and the children visit Alicent before bedtime. Helaena and Aegon also have a third younger boy, named Maegor.
>”Once inside, Cheese bound and gagged the Dowager Queen whist Blood strangled her bedmaid. Then they settled down to wait, for they knew it was the custom of Queen Helaena to bring her children to see their grandmother every evening before bed.”
>”Blind to her danger, the queen appeared as dusk was settling over the castle, accompanied by her three children. Jaehaerys and Jaehaera were six, Maelor two. As they entered the apartments, Helaena was holding his little hand and calling out her mother’s name. Blood barred the door and slew the queen’s guardsman, whilst Cheese appeared to snatch up Maelor.”
>”Scream and you all die,” Blood told Her Grace. Queen Helaena kept her calm, it is said. “Who are you?” She demanded of the two. “Debt collectors,” said Cheese. “An eye for an eye, a son for a son. We only want the one, t’square things. Won’t hurt the rest o’ you fine folks, not one lil’ hair. Which one you want t’lose, Your Grace?”
>”Once she realized what he meant, Queen Helaena pleaded with the men to kill her instead. “A wife’s not a son,” said Blood. “It has to be a boy.” Cheese warned the queen to make a choice soon, before Blood grew bored and raped her little girl. “Pick,” he said, “or we kill them all.” On her knees, weeping, Helaena named her youngest, Maelor. Perhaps she thought the boy was too young to understand, or perhaps it was because the older boy, Jaehaerys, was King Aegon’s firstborn son and heir, next in line to the Iron Throne. “You hear that, little boy?” Cheese whispered to Maelor. “Your momma wants you dead.” Then he gave Blood a grin, and the hulking swordsman slew Prince Jaehaerys, striking off the boy’s head with a single blow. The queen began to scream.”
*Fire & Blood* by George R.R. Martin pages 424-425 I think that was intentional. I don't think they wanted to show the book version on TV. They regularly toned down book material during GoT as well (Ramsay/Sansa's wedding night for example). Eh Ramsay married a different woman in the books so not a 1:1 comparison. The red wedding for the show actually added the bit with Robb's wife being there and getting stabbed in the stomach while pregnant so they've gone more extreme in some cases as well. Has less to do with the violence and more of the psychological torture of making it more of a Sophie's choice, telling Maegor that "your mommy wants you dead", Helaena in the books actually gives Maegar to Alicent to raise because she feels so guilty she can't even look at him, and Alicent being a witness to it happening. These could have all been changed and it wouldn't have been more violent.

Apparently if you are by yourself you cannot purchase a decent ticket. Very cool! I've yet to run into this at a concert but have trying to buy sports tickets and it's been very annoying. Was it doing the "youre leaving an empty seat" thing? Ran into an extreme of that the other week trying to get baseball tickets, we were trying to buy 4 and locked out of nicer seats because there were 5 open seats total so we were "leaving an empty seat" next to us It was. For an Anohni show lmao

Chat GPT is saying Jerry Stiller, who I coincidentally also thought of , but didn't suggest since his hair is not parted and he is more than just "that guy."

I think OutKast is done forever.
Stevie Wonder is pretty much it for me. We all know it was The Strokes for the longest time.

I went with JFK, the only one of those I've seen. I'm sure I probably saw Field of Dreams at some point in my life but can't say for sure.

I watched Joint Security Area last night and they alluded to it. Wanted to look up more about it. Surprised there isn't more media related to it seems like a no-brainer for a tv series.

Had fun at Passion Pit tonight. They look, sound, and dress the same as I last saw them in 2013. I'll Be Alright and Smile Upon Me ruled. Nice of Michael to callback the HoB 2012 show before Take a Walk.

Pistons fans how are you doing? We're not really capable of feeling hope, or anything, so it's whatever. Like shooting something when it's already dead.
