Just learned about dibs and wow.
In the week after the February 2011 snowstorm, for example, police responded to more than 30 reports of dibs-related car damage. Almost half of the victims found their tires slashed, while nine had smashed windows and others had scratched doors, broken mirrors and dents. During another February week in 2015, police responded to at least 29 reports of dibs revenge. Again, the vast majority of dibs avengers slashed tires or smashed windows, but they also keyed doors, damaged antennas, covered a car in eggs and flour and, in one case, cut the car’s brake lines. One dibs vigilante “slashed two of the victim’s tires and spray painted the word ‘B----’ on a victim’s door,” the police report says. Another posted a picture on Instagram of their knife in the victim’s tire with a message that read: “The struggle is real. People want to be disrespectful and careless of others [sic] hard work, this is what is going to happen…” according to the police report.

Finally beat Dark Souls. Never used a spell the whole game. Pretty much only used the halberd don't know why anyone would use anything else. Anyway fuck this game, never again and I'm not going through the series. Well I wanted to buy a game that would love beautiful on the new TV and apparently Demon's Souls looks gorgeous so I bought that. Here we go again. |

Was there a move in fee or security deposit? If move in fee I recommend doing $30 of property damage every time it snows considering that would be around the max cost of your PoS landlord hiring someone to shovel. nah they said my credit score is good so they don't need one. time to drive that baby down. |

I don't know if I'd say "pass along" as much as it looks it it says "share" the responsibility. Would love to see how it would shake out for the landlord to get fined (because they're the ones who'd incur it from the city) and try to pass it on to the tenant. Board lawyers - would that stick based on the above? If EVERY owner / tenant has the responsibility, then the responsibility of the owner is the same as that of the tenant. I mean, if you signed the lease, have fun fighting that out. Edit: Light googling doesn't raise any issues with sticking the tenant with it in the lease. Yes. But also, fuck them. |

I'm new here but this email from my landlord still seems insane to me, is this normal?
Ahead of the upcoming snow storm, I wanted to remind everyone about the Chicago Sidewalk Snow Removal Law. When buildings are in violation of this law they can face fines of up to $500 per day.
Per the terms of your lease, "Snow removal up to the standards specified in Section 10-8-180 of Chicago’s Municipal Code is the responsibility of the Tenants. Tenants acknowledge that Landlord has no legal responsibility to shovel or salt the property.”
Please work together across all of the units to come up with a plan for keeping the front sidewalk clear of snow and properly salted at all times.

After living here for three months finally put effort into selling my car. Got one for more than I thought and more than I owe so I'm pretty happy. Most importantly I don't have to renew my registration or tags beforehand.

Yeah I'm excited to see how it runs with the PS5 and is one of the main reasons I bought it. Let us know how LotR in 4K looks. Was actually wanting to watch this like a week ago and held off. Happy I did. Might be the first thing I watch. |

Nice! I have had my eye on the CX too, it's pretty much the one I hear recommended most of the time. My brother in law just got the 77 inch one and it's absolutely absurd. I think I'm going to wait until I upgrade my Xbox before I take the plunge though. Yeah I'm excited to see how it runs with the PS5 and is one of the main reasons I bought it. |
